2025 Schedule Week 17 (falling behind again):
Tricky one. Overall it's interesting, but moment to moment I was often kinda bored. In the end, it's definitely a good film, though I don't see myself watching it again.

2025 Schedule Week 16 (catching up slowly but surely):
Silly, funny, a bit emotional at times. I liked the physical humour and the running gags.
2025 Schedule Week 15 (now only 3 weeks behind):
In the 1940s you could say a guy got poisoned with a "luminous toxin" and claim that was a real thing.
This just wasn't what I wanted it to be. He wasn't so much solving a mystery as he was just going from A to B to C being told information.
Some good use of light and shadow.
Best horror film about the terror of disrupted routines and unexpected romance
2025 Schedule Week 14 (I am a month behind):
Nicely meandering. Interesting characters with good development. The plot was compelling. Some quality issues that made it hard to see/hear what was going on at times, but overall a good watch.
Develops quietly but still strong throughout. Gives enough information to have impact but holds back when it should. Some interesting composition and editing
2025 Schedule Week 12 (still behind):
A solid courtroom film. Interesting plot, good characters, some funny moments.
Also randomly Gene Kelly being rude and quoting Cicero (though you would expect the one with the other)
2025 Schedule Week 11:
Slow but entertaining. The characters were interesting and the plot was enjoyable. It also had some interesting cinematography.
2025 Schedule Week 10:
An intriguing concept but a bit wishy-washy in execution.
I'm not particularly bothered by wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey but it was kinda nonsensical.
Could perhaps have done with cutting out some or the periphery stuff and focusing on the main storyline, particularly in of emotional development.
2025 Schedule Week 9 (Only slightly behind):
This is so well made. The use of overlayed sound and paused images, and the repetition and reiteration of particular moments. It's all masterful.
And oh my god I started crying about 5 minutes in and basically didn't stop for the rest of the film.
2025 Schedule Week 8 (Fallen behind somewhat):
I generally don't go for serial killer stories because structurally they don't do what I want from a mystery, but this has such acclaim that I felt I should give it a go and I'm very glad I did.
The plot was interesting and enticing and it had some very good visuals, particularly towards the end. There were a couple of points that niggled at me, making it a 4.5 rather than a 5, but it's still excellent.
2025 Schedule Week 7:
Guy who hates talking to people or thinking about the world forced to do both in the company of two hot people who keep flirting with him.
A fun group of characters and a simple but compelling enough plot. Could have done with a bit more emotion perhaps but still a good time.
