This is a nice return to form after the lacklustre "Final Destination 4", or "THE Final Destination" as it insists on calling itself.

While we get the usual over-the-top carnage at the start of the film, only for it to flash back moments earlier to allow some people to survive, and the usual intricate deaths throughout the film it also introduces a couple of new plot points that haven't been used before.

I like that this isn't just a retelling of the Universal version of "The Wolf Man" and it feels kind of novel that the titular "Werewolf" is a man who had the affliction since birth. Although there's quite a bit of faffing about before we get to the werewolf part of the story.

This is perfect science fiction horror.

I never tire of this film, particularly when I see it at my local revival movie theatre because they always show Pingu's The Thing beforehand.

This time around I watched the 4K edition and it looks and sounds amazing.

Full disclosure: I haven't seen "Alien Convenant" because aside from Michael Fassbender I really didn't like "Prometheus" and felt like I was done with this franchise.
