Alright, I saw this one the way G*d intended, in a theater in IMAX. Lowkey I stand by what I said, it’s not for me but there were some really amazing parts of it. I think the sand worms and everything are just a little ~silly~ for me, I just can’t take anything seriously. Nothing against people that love it, I wish I could be more immersed but idk, it just takes me out of the film. My thoughts on this are a bit like Raging Bull, I get why people like it so much but sadly I am not one of them. Also Feyd-Rautha was about to kiss like, everyone, why is he standing so close to literally everyone?? I used to dislike Austin Butler but honestly, he was kind of good. Tell me he couldn’t do joker tho?? Like I kind of see it is all I’m saying (Reeves if ur reading this, do it). I must say that I normally dislike (American) fight choreography but Chalamet and Butlers fight looked great. It felt a bit predictable tbh. This story just seemed a bit basic sometimes, not to say it doesn’t have incredibly intricate parts as well. I felt the point of the series wasn’t quite explored in the first film. On that note, I do have to say that I like the direction the trilogy is going in and how it’s exploring its main themes more now that the groundwork has been layed. Lastly, everyone in it was great and I want a friend like Stilgar. Shout out to Hans Zimmer too for the insane score
Also kind of wish that they used Butlers character like they did in the books and interacted with his uncle much earlier (the first film).
