Such a unique concept: Writer Roald Dahl tells a story about one of his books, whose main character is Henry Sugar which tells a story about a book he read. Believe me, it’s not as dizzying as what I tell you here. Instead, it’s a fun short ride with quirky transitions!

Watched this one day after one of my dogs died, lucky for me because my tears don’t burst out on every scene that shows Scraps, but it still touched me. I wish I could go to the Land of the Dead and take my dog from there even though he’s not covered in fur anymore!

About the storyline, well I already predict the plot twist, but at least I don’t expect anything about the ending so I can enjoy it till the end. Instead I expecting they could explore more the subplot about the social class issue, but yeah, duration matters, I guess.

Ku suka part gorenya, lumayan bikin ngilu dan takut. Kebodohan2 karakternya ya khas film horor banget sih.. jd i guess nothing special sih di sini kecuali gorenya td.

A lil bit throwback ke masa2 bocah nonton versi kartunnya di Global TV 🐢 walau ga religiously ngikutin sih xixixi.

Bertahun2 kemudian, nemu ini di beranda netflix gue dan lgsg gas nonton, karena as I belum pernah nonton versi filmnya tp gatau ya maybe pernah tp lupa atau memang gapernah samsek. Well, kualitas animasinya di beberapa scene sih memang b aja dan nggak mulus (kalau dibilang “buruk” agak exaggerating soalnya). TMNT berjalan dengan cukup draggy, tapi at least ter-payoff lah sama final battlenya

Jokesnya garing, bukan yang bisa bikin ketawa menggelegar. Ceritanya terlalu ke mana mana, bukannya fokus ke world-building emoji aja deh... Pake bawa-bawa aplikasi di HP, berakhir jadi bunch of shitty and cringey product placement. Bahkan one of them makin berasa iklannya karena sampe ada dialog ”aplikasi XXX aman loh“. Buset, ini mah versi high-budget dari iklan dalam scene sinetron-sinetron Indo. Selain itu, ngga dijelaskan juga kenapa dari semua manusia hanya Alex yang kisah hidupnya “kebagian kue” untuk dieksplor oleh emoji.

Well, sebenarnya lumayan enjoy sih, nontonnya nggak setersiksa itu. Andai aja product placementnya ga sebrutal itu, bisa sih kasih 3.

Nonton ini di Loklok pas kumpul keluarga dan dari sekian banyak film-film bagus yang bisa dipilih di sana, entah kenapa malah berakhir dipilihin film antah berantah ini 🙃 CGI nya super duper murahan kek sinetron, nyaris semua karakternya bodoh, make up zombie nya konyol. 1 bintang untuk adegan gorenya yang lumayan brutal
