Bertahun2 kemudian, nemu ini di beranda netflix gue dan lgsg gas nonton, karena as I belum pernah nonton versi filmnya tp gatau ya maybe pernah tp lupa atau memang gapernah samsek. Well, kualitas animasinya di beberapa scene sih memang b aja dan nggak mulus (kalau dibilang “buruk” agak exaggerating soalnya). TMNT berjalan dengan cukup draggy, tapi at least ter-payoff lah sama final battlenya

i had to replace Chungking Express from my top 4 for now. kinda cheating but putting this on my top 4 (at the time I'm writing this, it is) also represents how much i love Chungking Express. these 2 just go side by side together, let's just say they come as a package lol. just DON'T make me fucking choose, i just CAN'T.

POV: when he's a red flag but he's Leslie Cheung

started off as a "toxic" romance and ended with such an unexpectedly (bitter)sweet bromance. that last sequence was pretty wild... WKW surely knows how to write what i think are supposed to be some lame, corny, cheesy scenes (don't forget that cheap cartoon style punch sound effect lol) and somehow he just made them work. and this guy also knows how to craft a good, sometimes great, even perfect ending for his films.

maturing is realizing that you love Fallen Angels more than Chungking Express (not by much tho. i still love, no, i ADORE Chungking Express!!!)

films like this are precisely the reason why i lovee movies. is this... what we call... absolute cinema??? :D

every frame is a painting. beautiful to look at visually, and gets you right in your feels, kinda heartbreaking & bittersweet, but at the same time there's this hopeful undertone somehow. the ending is an absolute perfection. no one can change my mind.

Ini film indah, cantik, menenangkan lah pokoknya. Will be a good rewatch with someone special.
