Gladiator: We have tigers
Gladiator II: Hold my beer…
Ridley Scott: Are you entertained?
Me: Yeah, okay. But the dad twist is kinda weird tho

A rewatch to recap before watching Gladiator II.
It was more like 3 to 3.5 ⭐️ for me. Considering that it was made in 2000, it was probably a cinematic masterpiece. Hence, the high rating is understandable.
Personally, the movie does not moved me as Braveheart did. At times, felt too long. Especially when it took almost an hour before we see him become a Gladiator.
4.1 on Letterboxd is okay but 8.5 on IMDB feels overrated.

I really dislike films that name their movie the main character unless it’s unique or meaningful.
Here’s an idea (from a film noob), how about naming the movie Valdez instead. Remove all the vampire elements from the trailer and synopsis. Then, in the first act audiences will think this is somewhat like a whodunit (which one is Valdez), then comes the vampire part. 🤯🔫
Secondly, why all the transformations were different. Finally, the last 20 minutes were bit all over…
