I saw someone on BlueSky use the phrase 'competence porn' to describe Apollo 13 and that made me realise it's A Thing. Tied into copaganda and the fetishisation of authority, maybe, but also sometimes just about people (including working class people) being good at their jobs. And if you're going to suggest an addition to the list, make the case – don't just shout the names of movies and directors at me!
