The strength of the story (what remains of it, anyway) and the majority of the performances juuuussst about make up for the songs, choreography, editing, script, lighting, framing and the overall cheapness, the lack of PAIN in a story about overcoming pain… not one second of this feels like it actually takes place in the south of America.
