Honestly a little boring after the schtick gets old, but if viewed as a metaphor for nihilism, or the brutality of society, or the futility of man, or anything like that, it’s pretty effective.
Apparently, the irony of using naziism, an ideology that is evil due to its belief in the superiority of certain races, as the philosophy of the antagonistic force in a story where some races are indeed inherently inferior was lost on Ralph Bakshi.
If this is a dad movie, then call me daddy. It might not have been a realistic depiction of autism, but it nailed the sense of loneliness and the isolation that comes with it, so I can’t really beef with this.
