I know that I spent a million billion hours with these characters less than four months ago, but I still have no idea who any of them are.
This movie has no right to be this boring! I mean it's freaking Seven Samurai in space with great looking special effects and for the most part very good actors!

It's not bad, and parts are even very good, like the interactions within the team and most of the new characters. I really like Quicksilver, Scarlett Witch and especially Andy Serkis who is not only stealing Wakandan vibranium, but also every scene he's in!
However. The plot feel old and slow and too similar to the first one to feel interesting.
Would this have been the first Avengers that came out I'm sure the tone would've been different, but now it feels like they're phoning it in.
Surprisingly deep and emotional! I personally feel like James Gunn previously have struggled with finding the balance between the comedy, the action and the emotional beats, but this time he really nails it. It's sad, it's laugh out loud funny and it looks great, almost as good as it sounds!
You can really tell that these are actors and a director that has come to understand their characters on a deep level which makes the emotional core of the film…
This doens't work. All the bts-drama really shines through as there is no longer a story anyone wants to tell and no soul to show. This is unfortunate as the film is dealing with a very talented group of people who could've done something great if they were just given the chance. Instead they are served with boring storylines, pacing problems, AI-written dialouge, cave exploring quality lighting and editing that makes you sea sick.

Such a weird direction.
I do not for one second believe this man to be a doctor. I do however believe he is a creep. The only convincing acting he did was going back to sleeping with the girl again AFTER she told him that she was actually older than she looked. He did not ccare.
What raises this movie from en even lower grade is that one short beautiful segment of the kids gathering in their Halloween costumes. That's what the whole movie should have been. Or actually about witches. What was this movie really about? Bugs? Robots? Who knows.
They presented this as a movie that came out in 1995 but it didn't feel like it! They could've had so much fun making it into an cheesy 90's action space romp instead of a modern great looking but forgettable Pixar-movie. Lost opportunity. By making it worse they would probably have made it better. The duality of man.
The people in this movie are worse scientists and explorers than the space truckers from the first movie!
What I liked: The bits they copied directly from the first Alien-movie,
great alien design, Danny McBride, Katherine Waterstone, nice landscape views, Michael Fassbender kissing himself and performing sexual innuendos with a flute (masturbation?), that bit was pretty sick!
What I didn't like: People being stupid, the pacing, the killing off of characters like it was an 80's slahsher-movie, seeing the alien too much
