The film looks beautiful and the acting is great but I can't stop thinking of what the movie really is about? Is it trying to tell us how we're doomed to repeat the mistakes of our fathers? That the environment of our upbringing doesn't matter? That good deeds won't go unpunished?

Beautiful to look at but maybe lacking in substance? The duality of man.
