I've always wondered what it must have been like to have seen "The Empire Strikes Back" in theaters opening night.
"Dune Part 2" is THE "Empire Strikes Back" of this generation.
This film is absolutely incredible in every sense. The scale of this film is immense and so are the stakes. The relationships within this film are breath taking and each have an important piece in telling this story. The visuals are absolutely gorgeous and expand upon the world of Arrakis. I loved the first movie's score and wasn't sure it could be topped. I was wrong, the score for this is absolutely phenomenal and holds every emotion that is asked of the audience.
Timothée Chalamet is insanely amazing in this and owned every scene he was in... especially at the end. Zendaya was another huge standout for me, I absolutely loved her in this. Austin Butler was terrifying and impossible to take my eyes off of. Javier Bardem delivered a stellar performance that added so much to this incredible film.
Now I could carry on and on about how much I love this film but I truly don't think I would be able to fully explain it. This is a masterpiece and an incredible addition to Denis Villeneuve' portfolio.
