Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning

2025

★★★★ Liked Watched

87/100 - Long in the tooth at times, 'Final Reckoning' seizes the moment in the back half of its runtime with "wow" moment after "wow' moment. Heavy exposition early on eventually flows right into some of the wildest action set-pieces you will ever see, along with an incredibly satisfying storyline that pulls out all types of emotions, from a bunch of laughs to edge-of-your-seat anxiety. It isn't without flaws, but this is an example of a franchise movie dipping into nostalgia and landing the plane. The "last" movie in this franchise fits right in as another showstopper for Ethan Hunt and the gang.

53/100 - Minus 10 points for not having the balls to call this 'Bullet Plane'.

There are moments that got a few chuckles out of me, with a few fun action scenes, but they're balanced out by some truly terrible moments, and a weak ass script.

97/100 - I am not sure how a serious person could look me in eyes and try to convince of any flaws in this movie.

95/100 - This movie is both incredible, and under-appreciated. ‘Fallout’ deserves all the praise it gets, but this movie isn’t far behind. What we have here is the first half of to one of the greatest two movie action arcs ever put on the big screen.

97/100 - This is the type of movie that makes you feel ALIVE (no pun intended). I almost stood up out of my seat for the last hour. The heart, soul, & ion poured into this movie by Ryan Coogler oozes out until the final credits roll. ‘Sinners’ is a special movie, an original blockbuster, that both looks & sounds amazing. And I can’t stress the “sounds” part of that statement enough, because Ludwig Göransson crafts a masterpiece with the music in this movie. ‘Sinners’ has all the sauce, and then some.

93/100 - THIS is why you go to the movies. If it was appropriate to clap in 'Nosferatu', I might've done so around 50 times. Few directors, if anything, have "the sauce" quite like Robert Eggers. He takes a legacy story and drenches it in what has become his own recognizable jaw-dropping style. Every shot in this movie could be printed out and hung inside of a museum. Everything from the atmosphere down to the writing is creepy, eerie, fucked…
