The rare rip off movie that's all heart, though this utter sincerity can't completely float it through a couple of slow stretches (to be fair: the amalgamation of cultural updates and bizarro artistic decisions brightens even these dull patches). Between this and GREAT WHITE, Vic Morrow has two defining pieces of cash-in cinema under his belt, though that JAWS riff doesn't feature him wearing an interstellar pimp coat and drinking all the scotch in the galaxy because his best robot buddy bit the dust.
