Wow, I found sand in my seat. Other movies jump to mind where sand isn’t loved but, boy oh boy, did Timothée and Zendaya must have loved the sand.
This epic, yep no other word mouse-kangaroos to mind, does sand-blast you into your seat. While Part One was your classical political turf war, so is this the beginning of a Shakespearean ideological religious saga. Both, large and pompous in size, production and visual.
And yes, discuss length and scenes to cut, but I hear no one complain when Christmas comes around and we all watch The Lord of the Rings trilogy in the extended cut, the whole Harry Potter Saga or do a MCU or Star Wars marathon. Some stories do need time and room to breath. And I would definitely be happy to sit through a triple feature when Denis Villeneuve does decide and gets the green light for another part on the sand planet.
