James Atkinson’s review published on Letterboxd:
Another stunning movie from Denis Villeneuve who recently said in an interview that dialogue should be for TV and Theatre and that is very evident in his filmmaking as I could easily watch this with just visuals and soundtrack alone. It's an experience and I love just sitting there and bathing in what I am watching in front of me.
Dune: Part Two builds this awe-inspiring universe. There is a lot to cover from the books but Villeneuve does it in such a way that isn't overwhelming and shows you only what you need to know. There are some spectacular scenes here, particularly the Harkonnen home planet with its black sun and the epic scale of the sandworm riding.
My only gripe is that some of the jumps in time were quite jarring, reminding me of seasons 7-8 of Game Of Thrones, I normally hate when movies drag out unnecessarily but these are so damn good I could easily spend more time with any Villeneuve movie.
Academy Award goes to Austin Butler absolutely nailing the sound of Stellen Skarsgard.
