I love movies where the location and atmosphere is also a main character/personality of the movie. This is just so rich and mysterious at the same time.
The writing is just so superior and layered which gives all of the main characters so much deapth and the slow yet effective reveals and backstories in the narrative just keeps you intrigued throughout. The first half was just excellent
I would say asif ali is still so very much underapprectaed as a performer, he just gave a much realistic performance which blends so well with the surroundings and the movie that you might not see it as it is so effortless, the same goes with vijayaraghavan,…
I recall Asif mentioning in an interview how he felt nervous when meeting Kamal Hassan, wondering how to introduce himself and worrying that he hadn't done anything notable enough to impress him. However, after this film, I believe Asif Ali won't face that situation again.
This is one of the best of the year.
A perfect blend of great screenplay, characters, engaging dialogues, immersive atmosphere, music , acting.
Verum 20 peru engan ulla theatrenu kayyadi oka kekkuna adyam.
Really hope this works in the theatre , asif ali deserves that.
A mush watch tale of three wise monkeys. It is one terrifically written and grippingly executed psychological mystery thriller that only gets further elevated by the strong performances of Vijayaraghavan, Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali. The suspenseful drama offers enough surprises and neatly builds up your curiosity right through only to leave emotionally astonished when all said and done. It captures the essence of human relationships in such a beautiful and completely unexpected manner. Do Not Miss it !!
Kishkindhakandam is a clear example of screenwriting excellence coupled with an exceptional cast. A slow-burn mystery drama that works so much on the grey while blurring the lines of morality.
The screenplay is crisp, not a scene is un-necessary and everything falls in place as you travel through the psyche of every single character in the film. Vijayaraghavan towers over everyone and Asif Ali deserves every praise his way. Especially after what happened with Kooman-a terrific performance of his, wasted bc of a middling third act.
As the lines of morality blur and the curse of memory fades, what remains is the love and care you have for your loved ones. Parental love is the only love that comes with…
that one yearly banger malayalam cinema drops out of nowhere.

A AGE TO INDIA II: ATTACK OF THE SPICE
Took a while for me to get fully invested in the story, but as everything unravels, it's pretty hard to not get sucked into the story and the mystery that verges into different territories, from a thriller to, I believe, sci-fi for a second there (or that could be me) and ultimately ends on a tragic note with a twist. I can see and understand why many will not like it, as it may feel like it comes out of nowhere, but I personally enjoy it.
Again, the script is really good. The performances are all great, namely Vijayaraghavan and Asif, the former getting to showcase a lot of charm but…
I got a unique vibe and thought it will be a good movie, but it is better than I thought it would be. Movie literally surprised me with its screenplay and performance. Movie has a good screenplay, even though it had a thriller mood throughout the movie, it also has some good characterization. It is a movie which evokes a curiosity factor throughout its story, by making us interpret the movie by thinking what happened and what is going to happens. It is an important factor for a thriller movie because many movies today are failing to create a curiosity factor while movies like this are succeeding in doing it, which makes this movie as a benchmark. Performance and soundtrack…
there is that feeling when you can feel the whole theatre collectively gasping at that one scene, I bore witness to such a moment today. When the film got over, I stayed in my seat for a good one minute cause I was paralysed with the overdrive of emotions the film handed over to me, and rarely have I felt such a way after watching a film. When u start rethinking the movie with the ending in your mind, the whole story becomes even more haunting. I think that's the best part about this. It's so naturally driven - no gimmicks, no misdirection, no red herrings ; just people being themselves. Slowly the forest will engulf you in it's arms…
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Highly praised by most newspapers and online reviewers, the film ended up being a disappointing experience for me. Packed with deliberate plot devices and gimmicks, the script seems to try too hard to appear layered and filled with hidden meanings. Unfortunately, it seems many professional reviewers fell for these "tricks."
The only redeeming aspect of the story is the absence of traditional antagonists or hidden agendas driving the narrative. Instead, it focuses on how casual incidents and chance occurrences often lead to tragic outcomes in life, with no one to directly blame. That, essentially, is what the film explores.
