Crazy the most visually striking movie of all time was made in the USSR in the 50s.

Feel like I may enjoy it more on a rewatch, I enjoy this kind of a Wes movie. His style is definitely still there, but not as overbearing as his recent movies (which I do still love.) The emotional heart of this movie just hits a bit more with the gentle tone it has.
“I just want to be a good kid.”
There’s something so heartbreaking about movies that deal with childhood innocence like this. Kids will always want to just be kids, it’s hard that so often the world takes that from them.
It may have some subpar acting and leave a little to be desired script wise, but this movie has a lot of heart and the child actor is great, especially his chemistry with Boon.
I knew this was going to hit in theaters but honestly it hit me way harder than I thought.
One of my first memories period was calling my parents at a sleepover to ask if I could watch this movie because it was PG-13. It ended up being the first PG-13 movie I saw (lol) and my introduction into the world of Star Wars.
