I don’t know where to start.
This was a genuine blast. A breath of fresh air. You add Hugh Jackman into any film, especially to reprise a role he was born to play, just magic. He has not lost a step.
The story is definitely a lot different to the previous films, but the characters are part of a bigger picture now. The scale is bigger, the action is plentiful and furious, especially when it comes to Wolverine, and the humour, there were people literally in tears at the screening.
There are some cameos, quite a few, all excellent. I can’t stress enough how much I need to talk to people about the cameos. One in particular provides one of the greatest swerves I have seen in any film. It was just so good. There’s plenty of fan service, and much of the shine may be lost on a rewatch, time will tell.
The soundtrack was great, nothing new there.
The dog was a welcome addition, give her a limited series now.
I was conflicted about how to rate this, but the end credits deserve at least a 0.5 bump.
I left this a changed man, I’d watch it again now if I could.
