Film director Sean Baker shared with us his neorealist cinema favs. “The real die-hard cinephiles will say that neorealism is basically only Italian, you know what I mean?” Nevertheless, Baker was happy to include non-Italian films in his top five.

He added: “I definitely love the Dardenne brothers, I love Lars von Trier, Ulrich Seidl, Chang-dong Lee, Jerry Schatzberg, yeah, and Bruno Dumont.”
