Man I really need to check out Sigrid Nunez’s work, I’m now 2 for 2 with enjoying adaptations of her novels

Thought this was going to be a historical romantic drama, but it’s actually a historical drama about the horrors gay people (men in this instance) have been put through in an attempt to “cure” them. 

Still a good movie, just significantly darker and more upsetting than I expected going in
